Snow White, Snowman and Angel Costumes: Christmas Guide

At the end of November, kindergartens hand out roles for the Christmas show, and parents suddenly have two weeks to find a Snow White, snowman or angel costume. All three characters look simple, but each has its own details. For Snow White, it matters which Snow White the teacher has in mind. For the snowman, it matters whether the child can manage the jumpsuit alone. For the angel, it matters how the wings will stay on. Below we list what we look at when putting together such orders.

Snow White costume: Christmas Snow White, not the fairy-tale princess

In Lithuanian, “Snieguolė” refers to two different characters. One is Grandfather Frost’s granddaughter, who comes to the Christmas party with him and helps hand out presents. The other is the heroine of the tale about the seven gnomes. If the invitation only says “Snow White”, it is worth checking with the teacher: at a Christmas morning event the first one is usually meant, but there is no guarantee.

Snow White costume for women

For mothers, teachers and event hosts we most often suggest this red Snow White costume for women with belt and hat. The set includes a dress with white faux-fur trim, a black adjustable belt and a soft hat with a white pompom. Sizes S to XL, price €30.90. Last season it was among our best-selling Christmas products.

One note: the white gloves in the photo and the gold bell are not included in the set. We sell the bell separately for €4.50, and you often have white gloves at home. The dress reaches roughly mid-thigh, so in a cooler hall it is worth putting on thicker tights.

Snow White costume for girls

For the little ones we have the Snow White (gnome) costume for girls: red dress and little hat, price €16.90. There are two sizes: 109-123 cm (about 4-6 years, 16-20 kg) and 124-134 cm (about 7-9 years, 25-33 kg). The name has two roles for a reason: the same dress can be worn for both the Snow White and the gnome roles. If next year the girl gets a gnome role, the costume will still come in handy. On size: if in November the girl is about 121-123 cm tall, take the larger one. A thin sweater fits under the dress, and the child will grow over the year. Slightly long sleeves are easy to turn up, but a dress that is too tight at the shoulders cannot be fixed by anyone.

Snowman costume for kids: jumpsuit or jacket with trousers

The snowman is one of those roles that both boys and girls get. We have two quite different models, and the choice depends on the child’s age and how long they will wear the costume.

Snowman costume for kids with padded belly is a white jumpsuit with gloves and a scarf, priced at €36.90. Sizes: 128 (for ages 5-7), 140 (ages 8-10) and 158 (ages 11-13). The round belly is clearly visible on stage even from the last row, and the child can put on the one-piece jumpsuit in a minute. On the other hand, a kindergartner may find it harder to take off in the toilet without an adult’s help. The broom in the photo is just a prop; it is not included in the set.

Children’s snowman costume with jacket, hat and nose costs €30.90. It consists of a jacket, trousers, hat, scarf and nose, and the jacket is decorated with faux fur and large buttons. Material is 100% polyester, sizes 128, 140 and 158. Because the trousers are separate, this version is more comfortable for a long event, when the child is still playing, dancing and visiting the toilet.

Olaf costume for the youngest

If the little one wants to be not just any snowman but specifically Olaf, our Olaf snowman costume for kids consists of a jumpsuit and a head mask, priced at €36.90. We currently have size 86-92 cm, which is for a child around two years old. With children of this age there is one risk: not all of them agree to wear anything on their head. Let the child try on the mask at home at least a week before the event, so that surprises do not start on stage.

Angel costume: from a set to a long dress

The angel is the most versatile of these three characters: it is needed in a Christmas play, in a nativity scene, and sometimes in a festive photo session. Girls usually need a set, boys need a tunic, and adults need a long dress with wings.

White angel set with skirt, halo and wings costs €18.90. It includes a puffed tulle skirt with glittery silver dots, thin little wings with fluffy edges, and a headband with a fluffy halo. Best suited for children up to 110-116 cm in height. The set does not include a top, so you will need a white long-sleeved T-shirt or a thin white sweater. In a cool hall this is even an advantage: under the skirt and wings the child can wear a warm white sweater.

Accessories: wings, halo, crown, scarf

• Wings. In a car seat the wings get crumpled within a few minutes, so carry them separately and fasten them on site.
• Halo on a headband. Some children find the headband presses behind the ears. Let them wear it at home for at least fifteen minutes and see whether the child pulls it off.
• Crown. Our Snow White costumes come with a hat, not a crown. If the script requires Snow White to wear a crown, choose a light one on a headband so it does not fall off while dancing in a circle.
• Scarf. Without it the snowman does not look like a snowman. Both of our children’s snowman costumes already include a scarf.
• Nose and face. The jacket-style snowman costume set includes a nose. For Snow White, face gems are a good fit, and we sell them separately.

How to coordinate siblings and the whole family

One of the nicest combinations is sister Snow White and brother snowman. Both characters come from the same winter tale, and red and white look good together in photos. If the children are of different ages, a two-year-old can be Olaf while the older one is the classic snowman.

Mum and daughter can dress up both as Snow White: both costumes are red with white trim. This purchase costs €47.80, which is €1.20 less than the threshold for free delivery to an LP parcel locker (€49). Adding the €4.50 bell takes the total above €49, and shipping to an LP parcel locker is then free. For an angel pair, the women’s angel costume with gold details suits mum, and the white angel set suits the daughter.

Sizes and ordering time

Children’s costume sizes are usually given by height, not age, so before ordering measure the child without shoes. Age in the tables is only a guide: two children of the same age often wear different sizes. If the child is between sizes, take the larger one, since a sweater is often worn under the costume and the kindergarten hall in December is not always warm.

All products are kept in our warehouse in Lithuania, orders are shipped the same or the next working day, and to an LP parcel locker the parcel usually arrives within 1-2 working days. In December shipping volumes are higher and parcel lockers fill up, so we advise ordering the costume at least a week before the festive event.
